Gun week 4


Didn't manage to clean up my topology on time for the final industry review. Making progress but fixing the booleans and other issues wind up taking more time then expected. Plan on working on this over winter break.

gun week 3: resurfacing




Manage to get my gun over in zbrush over thanksgiving break. I ran into some issues with the handle not import properly or fix some of the booleans in the high res model at this point. I managed to bring my poly count below 18k but will need to make adjustments on the topology before baking. So far making progress.

Nerf gun week 2 modeling





Ran into more issues with my geo. Plan on cleaning it up and catching up with the base model over holiday break thanksgiving. I ran into issues of sloppy topology after adding more edge loops to smooth out the mesh. planning on getting roasted for critiques tomorrow morning on how to prevent the same mistake from happening again.

nerf gun assignment week 1







My progress on my nerf gun assignment. I ran into issues adding geo to the main body and to finish certain sections of the assignment. However, the parts I did manage to finish are coming along nicely and able to progress on my hard surface modeling.

knife final pass (w.i.p.)







Here is my work in progress knife render. Manage to do the retopo, however the topology came out very sloppy and wasnt satisfied with it. After another attempt I decided to go straight into the uv editor in maya and had several issues doing the basing uv mapping. Planning on finishing the project asap.

knife project week 2









Haven't got a chance to fix the boolean mistakes I made from last week but so far this project has been a blast. Making much progress in my hard surface modeling. Took some extra screenshots of some scaling issues of importing models into zbrush and some progress pics in the mighty maya.

pumpkin zbrush class project


a quick pumpkin sculpt project that we went over in class today. It was a refresher to go over organics in my 3D fundamentals class. Today I got to learn how to use make boolean mesh function in zbrush, which enabled me to sculpt the mesh without the separate subtools interfering with the sculpting process.

Lighting hw




Started with basic line work and gradually started to add basic colors and lighting. Afterwards I would continue to add highlihgts and shadows to pop the cup out a bit more. I can say my digital painting skills have improved a good bit, however the values could have been pushed even further.

Redid the uv for the initial cannon and did the retop for the silhouette changes for the model.
